Scorsese does a hitchcock for one of the best branded content of the year

From JWT Barcelona comes this great piece of branded content (found on JWT’s blog, Good stuff ). Yes, branded content. Lasting a whopping 8 minutes, who can possibly calls this beast a TV spot? (click on the picture to watch it).

This is a fantastic piece of work, in my opinion. Because for once, despite a huge budget, and one of the most famous director still alive, the product plays a key part of the story. It’s also one of the first piece of branded content that makes you want to watch it. Ok, I guess the big names associated help, but the movie doesn’t disappoint. Au contraire.

I just wonder how they are going to run it. Are they going to make 30s trailers trying to drive traffic to the website where users can watch the full version? Or can they actually manage to show the whole thing on TV? I guess once would try to run it once only on TV and make a big event out of it, generating pre-launch buzz online…

It seems like budget is not too much of a problem for them!

But Kudos for the guys behind it. Amazing work. I bet it will do really well online anyway.
